Carousel Cloud can dynamically integrate with Google Slides to display Google Slides files on your digital signage.
Please Note:
-
Regarding live Google Slides file playback:
We don't share the authentication token (from your connected Google account) with players (that are capable of) displaying the content live
In order for live view to work on a player, the player itself needs to be able to access the Google Slides file directly. Hence, the requirement to Publish to web or make it available to Anyone with the link, as explained in steps 7 and 9 below
Additional information about Carousel Cloud and Google Connected Accounts is posted here
How it Works
Creating the Google Slides Bulletin in Carousel Cloud
In Carousel Cloud, navigate to your desired zone for displaying the Google Slides content and select New Bulletin > Dynamic Bulletin > Google Slides Bulletin
If you haven’t already connected your Google account to Carousel Cloud, click the orange Connect to Google button and then complete the account connection in the pop-up window from Google
Please Note: If the pop-up Google window displays a checkbox for permissions, you must check the box for Carousel to gain access to your Google account
After connecting your Google account to Carousel Cloud, you will then choose which Google Slides file you want to display in Carousel Cloud by clicking Choose a Presentation and then selecting it from the file picker in the pop-up window
After selecting the Google Slides file you want to display, and if you are ok with your Carousel Cloud players displaying snapshots (static images) of your Google Slides content, you can simply hit the orange ‘Publish’ button in the upper right corner of the Google Slides bulletin screen. The Google Slides bulletin creation process is complete!
If you want to display your Google Slides content ‘live’ to show animations or other dynamic content, which is only supported on players that have a built-in web browser, you will need to:
Open the file in Google Slides
Click on the File > Share > Publish to web button in the upper left corner
Click Publish
-
The other option for displaying live is to choose File > Share > Share with others, similar to step 7, and then select Anyone with the link and Viewer
In Carousel Cloud, click the radio button for Display live when possible
As needed, define a Slide Transition timer
Now you can simply hit the orange Publish button in the upper right corner of the Google Slides bulletin screen, and the Google Slides bulletin creation process is complete!
