Carousel Cloud Player Setup for Mersive Solstice

Goal: Configure the Mersive Solstice digital signage template, and then register the Mersive Solstice device as a player in the Carousel Cloud web interface

Supported Carousel Cloud Features

Please note:

  • Carousel Cloud supports the following Mersive Solstice hardware and software:

    • Supported Hardware:

    • Mersive Solstice Pod - Generation 3

    • Supported Operating System Versions:

    • The most current version of Solstice OS

    • All other fully supported versions of Solstice OS. Fully supported means at minimum, all required security updates are applied.

Overview of the Setup Process

  1. Configure a new digital signage template in the Mersive Solstice software, using the Merseive Solstice provisioning URL from Carousel Cloud

  2. Register the Mersive Solstice device as a player in the Carousel Cloud web interface

  3. Done!

Mersive Solstice Player Setup Process

  1. Obtain the Mersive Solstice provisioning URL

    1. Log in to Carousel Cloud

    2. Click on the gear in the upper-right corner

    3. Click on Configure

    4. Select Players

    5. Choose Player Setup

    6. Click on Mersive Solstice

    7. Copy the URL provided

  1. If you are using the Solstice Dashboard desktop application, paste the link you copied from the previous step into the Digital Signage setup tab for the Source URL (as shown below) and hit Apply. Then skip to step 8.

  1. If you are using Solstice Cloud, create a new Digital Signage template under Manage>Templates>Digital Signage.

  1. Click Create New Digital Signage Template

  1. Give the template a name, make sure Enable Digital Signage is checked, and then paste the link you copied from step 1 into the Source URL section, as shown below.

    1. If preferred, you can configure a delay before the Carousel Cloud app launches.

    2. You can also choose which of the default Solstice display elements you want enabled.

  2. Save the template

  1. You can then assign the configured Digital Signage template to any Solstice Pods from the Manage>Pods menu, as shown below

  1. If the Carousel Cloud digital signage template isn’t already running on your selected Mersive Solstice devices, restart the devices

  2. After the Mersive Solstice devices are running the Carousel Cloud digital signage template, they will display a player activation screen, as shown below

  1. Lastly, you will need to register the Mersive Solstice device as a player in Carousel Cloud

    1. If you are only registering a few players, you can follow the steps under the heading Player Activation in this Carousel Cloud article

    2. For large deployments, follow the steps under the heading Batch Registration in this Carousel Cloud article to register multiple players simultaneously

  2. Once the Mersive Solstice devices are registered in Carousel Cloud, the selected devices will begin to display your default cloud channel or the channel you specify during the registration process
