Goal: Configure the Web Browser (PWA) player in a web browser, and then register the web browser as a player in the Carousel Cloud web interface

Web Browsers:
Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge
Supported Versions:
The most current version of the web browser
All other fully supported versions of the web browser. Fully supported means at minimum, all required security updates are applied.
If you see a black screen after launching the Web Browser (PWA) player, you may need to refresh the page or restart the web browser for Carousel Cloud content to play correctly
Clearing your web browser cache, specifically the Developer Tools>Application>Storage>IndexedDB container, will result in the web browser player becoming unregistered and you will be forced to re-register your Web Browser player following the steps posted below
Overview of the Setup Process
Copy and paste the Web Application setup URL into your web browser from Carousel Cloud
Register the web browser as a player in the Carousel Cloud web interface
Done!
Web Browser (PWA) Player Setup Process

This step is not strictly required, but it is our recommendation to start from scratch by clearing the web browser cache that you intend to use as a web browser player

Obtain the Web Application URL from Carousel Cloud
Log in to Carousel Cloud
Click on the gear in the upper-right corner
Click on Configure
Select Players
Choose Player Setup
Click on Web Application
Copy the URL provided
Paste the Web Application URL you just copied into your web browser, and then hit return or enter to navigate to the URL
The web browser will now display a player activation screen, as shown below

Lastly, you will need to register the web browser as a player in Carousel Cloud
Register your Web Browser player in Carousel Cloud using the steps under the heading Player Activation in this Carousel Cloud article
Once the Web Browser player is registered in Carousel Cloud, the selected Web Browser player will begin to display your default cloud channel or the channel you specify during the registration process

One method to launch the web browser player is to make a bookmark in your web browser using the URL after player registration, and then launch the Web Browser player using the bookmark
You can manually launch the Web Browser player by simply clicking on the bookmark in the web browser
One method for automatically launching the Web Browser player is to enter the web browser settings, set the setting referring to on web browser startup to select certain pages, and then paste the URL from the bookmark you’ve created. When the web browser launches, it will automatically load the Web Browser player

To enter full screen and disable the toolbar for a clean look:
Select View in the toolbar and make sure the option Always Show Toolbar in Full Screen is not enabled
Then click Enter Full Screen
Advanced Notes for Windows Chrome and ChromeOS Users:
The following steps allow you to alter the launch settings of the Chrome PWA-based Carousel Cloud player installed on Windows. Steps 6 and 7 are optional if you want the app to launch automatically on startup or after a reboot.
Open Chrome on the media player and enter
chrome://apps/into the address barRight-click on the Carousel Player app and choose Create shortcuts
In the pop-up window, make sure Desktop is checked and click Create
Right-click on the newly created desktop shortcut for the Carousel Player and choose Properties

Under the Shortcut tab, find the Target field, add the following text to the end of the field (keeping what’s already there), and then click OK. **Please note the intentional space before the two dashes**
To only launch the web browser player in fullscreen, type:
--start-fullscreenTo launch the web browser player in kiosk mode, type:
--kioskTo launch the web browser player with video autoplay (without user input), type
--autoplay-policy=no-user-gesture-required
Use the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box and type
shell:common startupand hit Enter or click OKOnce the Startup folder opens and while holding down the control key, click and drag the Carousel Player desktop shortcut to copy and paste your shortcut into the Startup folder
Windows Microsoft Edge users:
The following steps allow you to alter the launch settings of the Microsoft Edge web browser on Windows devices. Steps 6 and 7 are optional if you want the app to launch automatically on startup or after a reboot.

Open Edge, and enter

At the top, select Allow from the dropdown under Control if auto and video play automatically on sites
