Carousel Cloud User Management
This is where you'll manage your Carousel users, and what permissions they have within the application. Carousel users will have a set of site or content roles assigned to them. Each role contains a set of permissions that define what the user can do and where they are allowed to do it.
Site roles encompass global access rights like the ability to create channels or change system level settings such as the CAP settings.
Content roles define a set of content creation access rights that are scoped to a zone or a zone tag.
For a new user, the whole process starts with an email inviting them to register as a user for Carousel. A Site Admin can invite and assign roles for multiple users at the same time. Each user will receive a welcome email and be led to a registration page where they will enter their information and a password. This invitation is time sensitive and, can be resent via a button on the manage users screen for any users who have not responded to the invite.
A user's email is what they will use to log into the system. You can enter multiple emails here to invite several users who share the same roles at the same time.
Assign roles to all of the users you are inviting. Optionally create them as a Site Admin if there are no restrictions on what they can do within Carousel.
Here you can re-assign roles for a user or change the values for any of the personal information entered by a user when registering.
To Apply or Remove a Role for a User
From the appropriate section, choose the role or roles you want to add.
If choosing content roles, you'll need to decide the scope of the roles. Scopes are either isolated to a zone or a set of zones defined by a zone tag
To remove a role, click the
Removebutton next to the role you want to remove.
When finished, save the user. If you do not save, these changes will not persist.
Roles are a logical grouping of a set of access rights within Carousel. A user can have multiple roles assigned to them, and you can tailor roles to fit your desired workflow. Some roles will come predefined for you, but feel free to make your own as your business needs require.
Roles are split into two categories:
Site roles are those roles that encompass global access rights. These include things like the ability to create channels, zones, external authentications and change your site name.
Content roles include the ability to make bulletins, upload media, manage templates, and the like. They are always tied to a zone or zone tag that can be acted within when applied to a user.
