Carousel Cloud and Google Calendar

Carousel Cloud can dynamically integrate with Google Calendar to display events from your Google Calendar on your digital signage.

Please Note: Make sure the zone dimensions where your event bulletin will be located are large enough to accommodate all of the items in the event bulletin Layout tab, including any possible long event titles. If the zone where the event bulletin is located is too small to display all of the items in the event bulletin layout, rendering errors will occur.

How it Works

Capture the iCal URL from Google Calendar

1. To find your Google Calendar iCal URL, log in to your Google Calendar account in a web browser

2. Click on the Settings gear in the upper-right corner of the screen

3. Select the calendar on the left-side menu that you want to display events from in Carousel Cloud

4. Then choose Integrate Calendar from the column on the left and copy the Public address in iCal format

5. If you are using a calendar that is not public, you will instead need to copy the Secret address in iCal format

Create the Event Bulletin in Carousel Cloud

1. Log in to Carousel Cloud and navigate to the zone in which you would like to display the Google Calendar events

2. Select New Bulletin, then select Dynamic as the bulletin category

3. Depending on how you want to organize the events from the Google Calendar, choose one of the 3 types of highlighted event bulletins

4. Verify iCal is your Schedule Source, and then paste the iCal URL you copied from Google Calendar into the iCal Feed URL field

5. Since the source iCal feed most likely contains multiple items or entries, you will need to choose how to display the items or entries in the event bulletin. As shown in the screenshots below, the options for managing the event bulletin settings can be made from the orange Dynamic and Content tabs at the top of the bulletin editor window.

After configuring the event bulletin, you can simply hit the orange Publish button in the upper-right corner of the events bulletin screen. The event bulletin creation process is complete!
