Carousel now gives you the ability to use Samsung Tizen Commercial signage displays to keep your audience informed and connected! Depending on your use-case and subscription, supported display models can be configured to be used either to display an Express Player Feed, or as a Licensed Media Player.

Device Compatibility

This app is only supported on commercial Samsung Tizen displays compatible with the Samsung Smart Signage Platform (SSSP Version 11+), Tizen Version 7.0+.

Consumer level models are not supported. We developed our app using Samsung Tizen Model #'s QM43C and QB43C. Please work with your systems integrator or Carousel reseller to select devices for your customized signage solution.

Content Compatibility

In developing this application, we have found that the internal web browser the device uses to show live web and interactive content may have some limitations based on the way that some websites behave. Certain websites that can not be i-framed for example may be skipped.

Player Setup Instructions

There are three different options to install Carousel on your Samsung Tizen Display. To get started, log in to to Carousel using a Site Admin account or one with the ability to Manage Players. Select the gear icon next to your username in the upper right, then select Configure > Players. Then Select Media Players > Player Setup > Samsung Tizen.

You can install the application from a USB drive, entering a Custom App URL into the display settings using a USB keyboard or the remote control, or using the Custom App URL for the display in your Tizen Business Manager account. Please work with your systems integrator or Carousel reseller to set up your devices as the steps may vary between hardware models.

Once the application has been installed, launch it on the device to reveal your activation code.

Next, login to Carousel using a Site Admin account or one with the ability to Manage Players. Select the gear icon next to your username in the upper right, then select Configure > Players. Then Select ‘Player Activation’

Enter in and submit your activation code. Now you’ll need to select whether you are configuring your device as a Media Player or an Express Player. If you are not sure which to use, check with your account administrator.

To configure as a Media Player, select the Media Player Button. You will then see the media player represented below where you can name it, select the content channel that it should display, and activate it. Once it has been activated, it will begin showing content and it’s settings can be managed from the Media Player Menu.

To configure as an Express Player, select the Express Player Button. You will then see the Express player represented below where you can select the Express Player feed that the device should subscribe to and Activate it. Once activated, it will begin displaying the feed contents.

Express player devices are not managed in the Carousel user interface so changing the feed it is subscribed to will require resetting the app on the device by uninstalling and re-installing the app.
