Carousel Cloud can now securely integrate with EMS so you can display your events live on your digital signage!
In this document, you will learn how to authenticate Carousel Cloud with your EMS system using your EMS API Platform URL, a Client ID and Client Secret. Once Authenticated, Carousel's Event Schedule Bulletins can use EMS data as its calendar source. This allows you to create an automated data connection between the EMS RESTful API (required) and Carousel Cloud to display always up to date room and event bookings!

Authenticating Carousel with EMS
In order to authenticate Carousel Cloud with EMS, you will need to create an integration for Carousel using EMS Platform Services/Administration in your EMS System. Creating an integration will generate a ClientID and a Client Secret. Once you have those, you are all set to head over to Carousel and create an EMS Authentication.
Please note The EMS Client Integration may require the All Routes role to complete the Carousel System External Authentication setup.
EMS
Start by logging into your Carousel Cloud Account and clicking on your username in the upper right, then select Configure*.
*If the configuration option does not appear, please see your Carousel Administrator for additional access rights.
Select System.
Select External Authentications then New to create a new EMS Authentication.
Select EMS Software as the type from the drop-down menu and fill in all fields to complete the authentication and select Save.
Using EMS Data in Carousel Cloud
Now that you've created an EMS authentication, you can use it as the data source for Event Schedule Bulletins. Navigate to the Zone in which you wish to display your EMS Events.
Select New Bulletin, then select Dynamic as your bulletin type. Select the type of Event Schedule Bulletin you would like from the three available options, Ungrouped Events, Events Grouped by Room, or Events Grouped by Time.
Now, simply name your bulletin, select EMS Software as the Scheduling Source, and select your Authentication from the drop-down menus. Now, you can select all of your preferred options from the data provided including Buildings, Rooms, Statuses, and Types!
Carousel will now sync your bulletin content with EMS!!
