Carousel Cloud Player Setup for Zoom Room

Goal: Configure a Carousel Cloud digital signage template in Zoom, and then register the Zoom Room device as a player in the Carousel Cloud web interface

Supported Carousel Cloud Features

Please note:

  • Carousel Cloud supports Macs running the following software:

    • Operating System:

      • The most current version of macOS

      • All other fully supported versions of macOS.  Fully supported means at minimum, all required security updates are applied.

    • Zoom Room Application:

      • The most current version of Zoom Room

      • All other fully supported versions of Zoom Room.  Fully supported means at minimum, all required security updates are applied.

  • Carousel Cloud supports Windows running the following software:

    • Operating System:

      • The most current version of Windows

      • All other fully supported versions of Windows.  Fully supported means at minimum, all required security updates are applied.

    • Zoom Room Application:

      • The most current version of Zoom Room

      • All other fully supported versions of Zoom Room.  Fully supported means at minimum, all required security updates are applied.

  • In order to complete the instructions below, your Zoom user account must have access to edit Zoom Rooms

  • MacOS players may intermittently unregister themselves after being properly added.

    • To resolve this, remove the following content found in ~/Library/WebKit/us.zoom.ZoomRoomsDigitalSignage/WebsiteData/ and then restart the computer

Overview of the Setup Process

  1. Configure a Digital Signage template for Carousel Cloud in Zoom

  2. Register the Zoom Room device as a player in the Carousel Cloud web interface

  3. Done!

Zoom Room Player Setup Process

  1. Obtain the Zoom Room provisioning URL

    1. Log in to Carousel Cloud

    2. Click on the gear in the upper-right corner

    3. Click on Configure

    4. Select Players

    5. Choose Player Setup

    6. Click on Zoom Room

    7. Copy the URL provided

  1. Log in to your Zoom account

  2. In the Admin section, select Room Management>Zoom Rooms

  3. Click the Edit button next to one of your Zoom Rooms

  4. Select the Digital Signage tab

  5. Click the Add Content link in the content list.

  6. Click on URL on the left side and then paste the Zoom Room provisioning URL you previously copied from Carousel Cloud into the URL field

  7. Click Add Url

  8. Click Add 1 item

  1. As shown below, you will now see a preview of the Carousel Cloud player registration screen in the Zoom admin panel. Please do not use the generated code in the Zoom preview window to register your player in Carousel Cloud. Your player will be registered in a later step.

  1. Adjust the schedule for your digital signage as needed, then Save your settings in Zoom

  1. Once the Zoom Room device enters digital signage mode, the Carousel Cloud player registration screen will be displayed, as shown below

  1. Lastly, you will need to register the Zoom Room device as a player in Carousel Cloud

    1. If you are only registering a few players, you can follow the steps under the heading Player Activation in this Carousel Cloud article

    2. For large deployments, follow the steps under the heading Batch Registration in this Carousel Cloud article to register multiple players simultaneously

  2. Once the Zoom Room device is registered in Carousel Cloud, the device will begin to display your default cloud channel or the channel you specify during the registration process
