Goal: Configure the Carousel Cloud app settings on the LG webOS device, and then activate the LG webOS device as a player in the Carousel Cloud web interface
Supported Carousel Cloud Features
Please Note:
-
Carousel Cloud only supports LG webOS models that meet the following 3 criteria:
The product is in the LG Standard Digital Signage Displays category
The product is running LG webOS version 4.1, 6.0, or 8.0
The product has the SI Server Setting available in the device system settings
-
Specific examples of LG webOS devices that meet the above 3 criteria are:
The UL3, UH5, SM3, and SM5 Standard Signage Display product lines
Specific questions about hardware that meets the above criteria should be directed to your systems integrator, Carousel Cloud reseller, or LG support to choose appropriate devices for your digital signage requirements
-
Due to hardware constraints on the LG webOS platform, YouTube bulletins are only supported in a limited capacity as explained below:
Since the video decoders on these players are not capable of handling lengthy or complicated video content, your mileage will vary when displaying YouTube bulletins. The effects of this range anywhere from YouTube bulletins playing back or loading slowly, playing back or loading inconsistently, or the YouTube bulletin being completely skipped due to the player’s attempt to load the content timing out.
Displaying more than 1 YouTube bulletin on a channel using an LG webOS player can cause the display to periodically restart itself; resulting in a black screen before returning to displaying Carousel Cloud content again
