Carousel Cloud has the ability to integrate with Exchange for Entra ID calendars to read and display events.
Please Note: Certificate authentication is not supported. Client secrets are the only supported authentication method.
How it Works
Set Up Microsoft Entra ID
-
Start by registering Carousel Cloud as an Application and create a service principal in Microsoft Entra ID. Then, get these three pieces of information from it:
Tenant ID
Client ID
Client Secret
First, use this article to create a service principal in Microsoft Entra ID
Select
Public client/native (mobile & desktop)for your redirect URIUse
https://login.microsoftonline.com/common/oauth2/nativeclient
Once you have created the Application, you will need to create a Client Secret following these instructions: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity-platform/quickstart-register-app?tabs=client-secret#add-credentials
You can only view and copy the secret while you are creating it. It is a good idea to stash it somewhere because you can’t access it afterward.
-
Next, give the App Registration the permissions to use Exchange
Select API permissions
Choose Add a permission
Select API's my organization uses
Choose Office 365 Exchange Online
-
Select Application permissions
Check the full_access_as_app checkbox under Other permissions
Choose Add permissions
Select Yes in the dialog box to Grant admin consent for <username>
Create an External Authorization in Carousel Cloud
Navigate to Configure > System > Org Accounts and choose Exchange for Azure Entra ID from the drop-down menu
Enter your Tenant ID, Client ID, Client Secret, and Exchange User Impersonation (if required), and then choose Save
Create the Event Bulletin in Carousel Cloud
Log in to Carousel Cloud and navigate to the zone in which you would like to display the Exchange for Entra ID events
Select New Bulletin, then select Dynamic as the bulletin category
Depending on how you want to organize the events from the Exchange for Entra ID calendar, choose one of the 3 types of highlighted event bulletins
Verify Microsoft Exchange is your Schedule Source
Choose the Connected Account and Exchange Calendar
-
Since the source Exchange for Entra ID calendar most likely contains multiple items or entries, you will need to choose how to display the items or entries in the event bulletin. As shown in the screenshots below, the following options for managing the Exchange for Entra ID calendar can be made from the orange Dynamic and Content tabs at the top of the bulletin editor window.
More information regarding bulletin layout and formatting is explained in this support article

Content Tab
Please Note: The Dynamic Fields List is a breakdown of all the possible Exchange for Entra ID data fields Carousel Cloud can receive, and also lists the specific information we are receiving for a given data field from your source Exchange for Entra ID calendar
After configuring the event bulletin, you can simply hit the orange Publish button in the upper-right corner of the events bulletin screen. The event bulletin creation process is complete!
