Add a professionally designed, ready-to-run channel to your system in a few clicks — then make it your own.
What is the Creator Library?
The Creator Library is a catalog of complete channel designs, built and maintained by Carousel's design team. Each design arrives with its zones, layouts and starter templates already in place, so you get a working channel without building one from scratch.
Everything in the library is a starting point, not a locked template. Once a design is on your system, it behaves exactly like a channel you built yourself: you can rename it, restyle it, swap the fonts and colors, and replace the content.
Opening the Creator Library
Go to Settings → Channels and choose Browse the Creator Library. The page opens on Available Channel Designs.
Please Note: Permission needed — You need the same permission that lets you import or duplicate a channel. If you can't see the Browse the Creator Library button, ask a Site Admin to adjust your role.
Browsing the Designs
Designs are grouped into two families:
Family | What it is |
|---|---|
Starter Channels | A neutral foundation in the default font, with the essential templates for every zone. Built to be customized. |
Themed Channels | The same layouts with coordinated backgrounds, color palettes and fonts for a particular look — still fully editable. |
Each card previews the design, shows how many zones it contains, and lists the available resolutions and color palettes.
Search and filters
Type in the search box to find a design by name or description. Choose Show Filters to narrow the list:
Family — Starter or Themed.
Layout — how the screen is divided into zones.
Orientation — landscape or portrait.
Vertical — the kind of organization a design was created for, such as education or healthcare.
Filters combine, and only the filters that apply to the current catalog appear. Clear Filters returns you to the full list.
Choosing a Resolution and Color
Most designs come in more than one variation. Select Choose Options on a card to open it and pick the combination you want.
Option | What it controls |
|---|---|
Resolution | The pixel dimensions the channel is built for. Match it to the screens it will play on — a 4K display should get the 4K version rather than an upscaled one. |
Color | Which of the designer's palettes to use, previewed as swatches. |
The preview updates as you change your selection, so you always see the exact variation you're about to add. Where a design comes in only one resolution or one color, that value is simply listed rather than offered as a choice.
The dots beneath the preview step through the design's screenshots — select one, or use your keyboard, to move between them.
Adding the Channel
Install your chosen variation. Select the install button in the design's window. Carousel fetches the package and hands you off to the channel import wizard.
Work through the wizard. Name the channel, decide how its zones are created, and confirm what gets added. This is the same wizard used for channel packages you upload yourself.
Finish. Nothing changes on your system until you complete the wizard. Until then, you can back out, and no channel, zone, or content is created.
Watch the task tray. Building the channel happens in the background. The task tray shows progress and tells you when it's done — you can keep working while it runs.
Additional Notes
Names are kept unique automatically
If someone imports the same channel at the same time, the channel name or any of its zone names may already be in use on your system; Carousel renames the incoming set rather than creating a second item with the same name. Renamed items get an Imported on stamp with the date and time, and the task tray tells you it happened. Rename them to whatever you like afterward.
One import at a time
If someone else on your team starts an import while yours is still running, the second one waits its turn and then proceeds normally. Nothing is lost, and nothing needs retrying — it just isn't instant.
