Please Note:
All Series 6 players must be running BrightSignOS version 9.1.96 or newer.
Carousel Cloud only supports BrightSign players running BrightSignOS. Other operating systems are not supported.
Listed below are specific BrightSign model and content support items. Additional information about BrightSign player capabilities is listed on our full player and feature support matrix.
-
Additional information for all BrightSign players listed below that have ‘Limited’ support:
Due to the player's limited hardware processing capabilities, the following Carousel Cloud features will be inconsistent or may not work at all as described in more detail below.
-
Heavy Video Content
Videos with a long runtime (large file size), videos with high resolution (requiring multiple or more capable video decoders), and Carousel Cloud channels that run primarily video content (consistently pushes these lower-powered players to (or over) their maximum processing capacity limit), may not run well or at all on these players.
-
Carousel Cloud Content Switching
Changing assigned Carousel Cloud channels, displaying full-screen alerts, transitioning between bulletins, and other content changes will be slower on these players.
-
Power BI and YouTube
'Live' Power BI reports and YouTube videos may not work depending on the complexity of the Power BI report and YouTube video you are using.
An alternative for displaying ‘live’ Power BI content is to instead use the 'snapshot' function for the Power BI bulletin.
-
Interactive and Web Bulletins
While we don’t prevent you from attempting to display either bulletin type on a player with ‘limited’ support, technical support is unavailable for any player in this category that is not correctly working to display web or interactive bulletins.
-
Additional information for the XC2055, XC4055, and XT2145 where ‘Rotated Video Playback is not currently supported’:
The behavior is that portrait mode HDMI video output, when using portrait-oriented uploaded video content to Carousel Cloud, does not work as expected.
A potential workaround for this is when you need to output portrait video, is to export the video rotated in the opposite direction of the configured player output setting in Carousel Cloud (i.e. if you have the BrightSign setting to rotate clockwise in Carousel Cloud, you can upload a video rotated counterclockwise) and BrightSign won’t rotate the rotated video, producing the correct output.
