This article provides the process to configure and register a compatible BrightSign player with Carousel Cloud using Moki Device Management. This article will not go through setting up or configuring your Moki account.
For more information on Moki, please visit their website.
Prerequisites
You must have an active Moki account which can manage supported Brightsign players.
You must have the proper permissions to add devices and create device setups.
Supported Player Models
BrightSign Models:
XT models Series 3 or 4
XD models Series 3 or 4
HD models Series 3 or 4 (performance limitations listed below)
Single video plane (heavy video content, not supported)
Slower speeds (channel changes, alerts, etc.)
Limited HTML support (custom web and interactive, not supported)
BrightSign Firmware/OS version:
Minimum Supported is 8.0.119.
Some firmware versions are unsupported. If you are having setup issues, try updating the firmware version.
Important Notes
Brightsign currently has some limitations with their network capabilities in BSN Cloud.
A wired connection is required to set up a wireless connection and will again be required should the players ever need to be re-provisioned.
Enterprise network protocols (802.1x, WPA2 etc) are currently not supported in BSN cloud for wireless or wired network connections.
Countdown Clocks are not supported on Brightsign players
A Brightsign Player will set its initial output resolution based on the display to which it is connected. That can then be changed in DWS afterwards if necessary. Carousel has no control over the Brightsign Players output resolution. Scaling will occur in situations where a Carousel channel resolution is mismatched with output resolution.

Player Setup Instructions
1. Find your Carousel Cloud for BrightSign provisioning URL.
Log into Carousel Cloud and navigate to Configure > Players, then select Player Setup then select Brightsign as the player type.
Copy the setup URL provided. You will use this as the “Custom Application URL” in your Moki device setup.
2. Access the BrightSign Platform within Moki.
While logged into and viewing the Moki dashboard, use the menu icon and select the BrightSign logo or click “BrightSign from the device status section:
3. Create a Setup.
Within the Moki BrightSign platform select either Setup from the top menu:
While in the setup menu click the + icon to create a new setup:
Enter an appropriate Setup Name for your setup so you can refer to it later. For example, you might use: “Carousel Cloud.” Next provide a device name. Then, in the Device Type section select “Custom Application URL” and enter the setup URL for your Carousel Cloud Account.
4. Add your Devices.
Use the Plus/Add button in the upper right corner of the main Brightsign Devices screen to add devices one at a time.
Enter the required information and select your Carousel Cloud Player Setup from the drop-down menu and save.
To add devices in bulk, you can optionally upload a CSV. Click on your username and select Bulk Device Enroll.
You will then be prompted to upload a .csv file in the format indicated. Your setup _id can be found on the main setup page.
Note: Applying a Device Setup to a device in this list does NOT immediately apply the setup you selected. It simply specifies which Device Setup will be used the next time the device is provisioned.
4. Provision and Register your Device
Now it’s time to fire up a player. If you have a brand new player, all you need to do is ensure it has a blank SD card inserted, then plug it in to a network and to power.
Note: If you are using a BrightSign that has been used previously, you will first need to Factory Reset the device.
Over the next 5 to 10 minutes, the BrightSign device will restart several times to configure the player. At the end of the process the Carousel Cloud player registration screen will be displayed. Then you may follow the on-screen instructions to register your player. For large deployments, follow the steps in this article to batch register multiple players simultaneously. Once registered, it will begin to display either your initial channel or the channel specified during batch registration.
